about

As of this year, my Hometown is 700 years old, and as of this day, my song about my hometown is a less impressive but still formidable 2 years old, so I figured I'd give it a bit of a face-lift and do it the way I always wanted to. Here it is.

lyrics

They tore down the old movie theater on my street
Built up a modern art museum
Kept the sign as a memory
You can make out the traces of broken in graffiti
Around the edges
A faded puzzle piece of the past is all it'll ever be

And it's the old against the backdrop of the new
Anywhere you'd look
I guess my new's becoming old
In the time that I've been away from home
(Wherever that is)

But I remember the cobblestone streets
How they twist and turn along the river
Cross paths and meet
And any way you choose to go
You'll always end up where you need to be
When in Vilnius
You'll find your place eventually

We climbed up Three Cross Hill in the middle of the night
It was hot and we were tired
But our eyes lit up with the city lights
And we saw Cathedral square
And it'd never looked so bright
I guess if God won't show some love
Then the fluorescents might

But I remember the cobblestone streets
How they twist and turn along the river
Cross paths and meet
And any way you choose to go
You'll always end up where you need to be
When in Vilnius
You'll find your place eventually

And it's been hard
I put those memories up on the shelf
And it's been hard
You don't answer calls anymore and I'm left talking to myself
Just like I've been for the last 8 months
I can't stay in this fucking rut
But the dial tone won't let me go
And just the thought of having something
To remind me why I'm here
Makes me want to go back home

But I remember the cobblestone streets
How they twist and turn along the river
Cross paths and meet
And any way you choose to go
You'll always end up where you need to be
When in Vilnius
You'll find your place eventually

You'll find your place eventually
You'll find your place eventually
